October 2019 - This is the extension building that we provided in 2017 for around 150 pupils the Junior Secondary School which is already unfit to accomodate the number of pupils enrolled, they need a new extension and a new Senior Secondary School to prevent children dropping out of education

November 2019 - The proposed site for the new Senior Secondary School is located close to the Junior Secondary School. The new school would need to have a reliable water connection, latrines and wash facilities.

Regent Senior Secondary School Project

Senior Secondary School – Regent Village

Regent village is in need of a Senior Secondary School and we plan to assist with the provision of a new building that will hopefully decrease the number of pupils that drop out of education due to the lack of a Senior Secondary. Many families cannot afford to send their children to senior schools located in Freetown, attending secondary schools that are far away is expensive and somewhat dangerous given the conditions of the roads and chaotic traffic and put simply children do not have the means to move from Regent Village to Freetown on a daily basis and many have no choice but to drop out of education which is an awful situation, most children want to continue in education and are unable to due to the fact that they have no Senior Secondary School to attend close by.

There are over 8,500 students registered in the Regent District and the community is desperate to have a larger Junior Secondary School and its first ever Senior Secondary School. We built a new extension to the Junior Secondary school in 2017 – http://www.action4schools.gi/junior-secondary-school-regent/ and they already need bigger facilities. Many of the Junior Secondary school pupils are now having classes outside in makeshift classrooms – see below:
