Bishop Fitzgerald School Water Well 130 Fundraiser (Romanor School, Tonkolili)

BISHOP FITZGERALD SCHOOL “WELL BEING DAY” 18th March 2026
The event was held at the Lathbury Sports Complex and brought together all the school in what was an educational and fun event. Children had been collecting sponsorship money weeks before the event trying to raise enough to fund a new water well in Sierra Leone, they sponsored teachers who raced on the tracks!

The children where then asked to carry buckets of water around the tracks to see and feel for themselves how difficult it is for children in poor countries who struggle to have access to clean safe water, how they have to fetch water far distances, this was an educational experience few will forget in their lifetimes, what a great idea to do this!

Children had a fabulous day out in great weather with plenty of fun games, zumba and exercise and they also learnt about the importance of healthy nutrition for healthy minds and bodies!
